24-year-old Pratyusha Banerjee who is a popular Indian television star allegedly committed suicide in her home in Mumbai, on Friday.
According to the the local police, Banerjee's death was an accidental one, in which she was found dead, hanging from a ceiling fan, by her leave-in boyfriend, fellow actor and producer Rahul Raj Singh. Banerjee's boyfriend, Balika reportedly took her to the hospital after finding her hanging from the ceiling fan, and she was confirmed dead shortly after that.
Barnerjee was popularly known for her role in Indian television series Balika Vadhu, having gained fame in 2010 after winning a talent search. Subsequently, she appeared in series of other Indian television series and also, had roles on several other Indian scripted television shows.
The funeral of the late actress was held on Sunday following the performance of her last rites' ritual on Sunday at the Oshiwara crematorium grounds in Mumbai on Saturday.
The family, friends and colleagues of the late actress could not their griefs and shock as they gathered in their numbers to bid her farewell.
