However, tracing the industry to its root, it will be recalled that there had been actors who were in the past part of the industry and also contributed their own quota when it was still struggling to survive. While some of these pioneers are still active in the industry, some left and never came back but never will they be forgotten for paving ways for the current actors who are also making the industry and Africa proud!

Dolly Unachukwu
Dolly Unachukwu featured in 'Glamour Girls' before she relocated to UK where she resides, She graduated from the University of East London, married and lives in Rochester, Medway.
Regina Askia
Regina Askia featured in quite a number f movies. Her role in 'Half Moon' was on one of such that brought her to limelight. She later relocated to USA. Now, she is a qualified nurse in the USA and lives in New York. She is married with kids and is busy combining her career as a nurse with raisng her children with her husband in New York. Remarkably, the pioneer actress flaunts herself as a proud Nigerian and doesn't keep her eyes off Nigerian news. She entertains her fans more by keeping them updated on how she runs her happy home. Askia- Williams recently penned an open letter to president Buhari, with the headline - 'Where Is The Change You Promised Us?" which made headlines on the internet.
Victoria Inyama
Victoria Inyama was one of Nollywood young rising actresses and featured in many Nigerian movies until she was no where to be found. It was later discovered that the young talented actress took a break from her acting and relocated to UK to join her husband after she got married. She is currently raising a family with hubby. Victoria has studied drama in UK and has hopes of returning to Nigeria to give back to the society through her acquired skills.
Sandra Achums
The delectable pioneer screen goddess is a graduate of the University of Lagos (Unilag). She also left Nollywood and relocated to Germany to join her husband. She still lives in Nuremberg, Germany with her husband and children and has been sharing photos of them on social media.
Ego Boyo
Brought to limelight after her role as Anne Haartrope in 'Checkmate'. Made more waves in 'Violated' and a lot more. She got married and retired from acting, though she has been active in movie production. She is still very much in the industry. Ego Boyo participated in the recently held AMVCA where she ushered in the honored veteran actress Bukky Ajayi to the stage for her award.
Hilda dokubo
Hilda Dokubo lives in Port Harcourt, Rivers state and is the Executive Director at Center For Creative Arts Education. The graduate of University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) is still active in Nollywood.
Gloria Anozie
Now, Gloria Young, is married to ace Nollywood and soap opera actor, Nobert Young. Gloria also, still plays active roles in Nigerian soap opera and is one of the castes of the currently featured soap operas on Africa Magic, 'Hotel Majestic'. She lives in Lagos with her husband.
Liz Benson
Liz Benson studied at University of Oxford. Her role in the movie 'Fortunes' and 'Glamour Girls' brought her to limelight, though she began her acting career from when she was a kid. She got married to a pastor in 2009 after years being a single parent, following the death of her first husband. Now known as Liz Benson-Ameye, she recently played a role in Stephanie Okereke's much-talked-about movie 'Dry' which speaks out for the girl child and the vulnerables in the society.
Eucharia Anunobi
Anunobi is an English graduate from the University Nigeria, Nsukka and popularly called UK. She played a role in 'Glamour Girls' which brought her to limelight and has featured in quite a number of movies. She is very much around and has been active in her careers even after she converted to a pastor. UK is combining her acting career with her pastoral work as well.
Rita Nzelu
Rita graduated from Enugu State University Of Science and technology (ESUT) graduate. Her appearance in 'Living in Bond' brought her to limelight after which she featured in more movies before relocating to UK. She is married and featured in one of Nollywood movies 'Ada Mbano' that was caste in London. Rita Lived in UK until last year, when news broke online that she has returned to Nigeria to relaunch her acting career.
Ndidi Obi
If you do not know the Enugu state born pioneer actress by her real name, you will definitely know her by her stage name, 'Nneka the pretty serpent'. Yes, after her role in the movie, she almost lost her name and real character to 'Nneka the pretty serpent' because of the popularity she gained from the movie. fter that, Ndidi Obi featured in more films but has been a little silent in the industry. In 2013, Ndidi was reported to have given her life to Christ and had been ordained a pastor in one of Nigeria's churches.
